Price Rises
We have had no choice but to increase our selling prices, especially mealworms. We warned customers earlier this year and have struggled to get much stock in since. There are many reasons for the increases. With mealworms the price has been rising for the past year in China but we have managed to hold of on price increases until recently. Container shipping prices have now increased from close to $2,000 per container to over $12,000 which is having a huge effect on prices. A container which would usually take 30 days to get here is now taking over 2 months which is causing major stock pressures on all suppliers of dried mealworms. We do see the situation improving in the future but personally think it could be 6 months or more.
We are so sorry for the inconvenience caused by this and we will do everything we can to try and bring them back down as soon as we can!
